ECOS Registration and Payment

What is the difference between Pre-Registration and Registration?

Pre-Registration is the first step of the process, where you provide basic information about you for us to evaluate your application. This step is done by filling the appropriate Google Forms. Registration is the second step of the process, only for the students that were selected in the Pre-Registration step. In this step, you register at ECOS (the Brazilian Computing Society's system) and pay the registration fee (if applicable).

I did not find the option to attach the invitation letter in the system. What should I do?

There is no such an option. You must combine your student ID with the invitation letter and attach it as single file in the system. If you are underage, you also need to add a letter (according to the provided template) signed by your legal tutor (parents, etc.) allowing you to attend the school.

I submitted the wrong file during my registration. What should I do?

Please, remove your registration and register again.

I registered, but my registration is still been processed. What should I do?

As processing the registration is done manually, it can take some days to be concluded. If it has been more than 5 business days, please write to us.

I already paid, but the ECOS system does not state it so. What should I do?

The system can take a few business days to update, especially when paying by "Boleto Bancário". If it has been more than 5 business days, please write to us.

If your payment method is "Boleto Bancário", be sure to take in account if the payment is not scheduled instead of already done.

My University will make the payment of my registration. What should I do?

In this case, please contact us as soon as possible.

Registration Fee Exemption

I'm exempt to pay the registration fee?

Only Female Students, 2026 "Programadores de América" (The Latin-American Final) participants, 2025 Brazilian Medalists (top 15 in the 2025 Brazilian Final) and 2025 Brazilian Regional Champions are exempt from the registration fee.

Students that do not fall in the previous categories are not fee exempt even if they are OBI/IOI medalists, ICPC World Finalists, Latin American Finalists, Brazilian Medalists or Regional Champions from other years.

I'm an OBI/IOI medalist. Can I be exempt?

No. Only Female Students, 2026 "Programadores de América" (The Latin-American Final) participants, 2025 Brazilian Medalists (top 15 in the 2025 Brazilian Final) and 2025 Brazilian Regional Champions are exempt from the registration fee.

I'm a ICPC World Finalist, Latin American Finalist, Brazilian Medalist or Regional Champion from previous years. Can I be exempt?

I'm a winner of my site in the First Phase (Subregional). Can I be exempt?

How do I know that you know that I'm exempt?

When you are selected to the school, you receive an invitation letter. This letter will state if you are exempt or not.

I should be exempt, but the letter says that I must pay the registration fee. What should I do?

In this case, write to us explaining why you are exempt, so we can clarify the problem.

How can I register as exempt in the ECOS system?

You can't... Register and select the payment method as "Boleto Bancário". We will manually register you as exempt, which can take some days.

I'm exempt, but my payment appears as Processing/Pendente or Canceled/Cancelado. What this means?

It means that either we did not change the status of your payment yet (it is processing) or that we already canceled the payment as you are exempt (it is canceled).
